As a Service, we have a positive and proactive approach to volunteering in line with our organisational ethos of being ‘passionate about changing and saving lives’.
Our volunteers really make a difference to the communities they live in, by offering skills, knowledge and time to a variety of community safety initiatives, such as support our road safety events, patrolling our heathland and capturing our events on photographs. The efforts of our volunteers make a real difference to the people of Dorset and Wiltshire.

By volunteering, you not only help communities throughout our Service area, but you also meet like-minded people, improve your CV, gain additional training, boost your confidence, improve your communication skills and gain experience by working with a leading emergency service.
We have various volunteer opportunities for people to get involved with. You can choose a volunteer opportunity that suits your existing skills and time commitments; however, we are more than happy for you to volunteer for various roles if you wish to do so.
Full training, appropriate uniform and equipment are provided to our volunteers, so – if you’re as passionate about changing and saving lives as we are – we’d love to hear from you!
